About FM 90

 

FM 90 is Bemidji State University's student-run radio station, located at 89.7 MHz on the FM dial. FM 90 broadcasts at 122 watts, reaching the entire BSU Campus, the City of Bemidji, and as far away as 35 miles out of town.

FM 90, or KBSB FM, is licensed to Bemidji State University by the Federal Communications Commission as a non-commercial educational FM radio station. It is owned by Bemidji State University. It has a faculty advisor from the Department of Mass Communications and is managed by mass communications students interested in the radio industry. Its air staff is composed of BSU students in the mass communications program and in other programs on campus that have an interest in being involved in radio.

FM 90 runs a "Top 40 Hits" or CHR radio format during most of the day, but does shy away from the format for specialty shows of a variety of formats. Some of these shows include formats such as hip-hop, bluegrass, and heavy metal.

Along with broadcasting over the airwaves, FM 90 can also be heard on the World Wide Web off of this website via a Windows Media audio stream.
